I am not particularly familiar with her life, but by all accounts, Ms. Ginsberg was a force to be reckoned with! Certainly her war with cancer, in which she won several major battles, is a testament to her fortitude and strength of character. I was saddened to hear of her death.

This news is both a personal story and a political one. What will happen on the political front as a consequence is anyone's guess. The old curse, "May you live in interesting times" has certainly come to roost!

From The Epoch Times:

Local health officials in Wisconsin don’t have the legal authority to shut down private schools to contain the spread of the CCP virus, the state’s Supreme Court ruled.

Dah.

The litigants challenged Dane County Emergency Order #9, which was issued Aug. 21 and amended Sept. 1. The ruling, which includes a temporary injunction, was approved by the Wisconsin Supreme Court on a 4–3 vote.

“This is a great victory for religious liberty,” attorney Erick Kaardal told The Epoch Times.

Officer Chauvin's treatment of George Floyd was horrific. I can imagine no circumstances under which it would be OK for an officer to put his weight on a suspect's neck after that suspect was clearly incapable of offering further resistance. There is universal agreement on that. In fact, support for the condemnation of that arrest has been shockingly unanimous. To my knowledge, to this day, no one, literally no one, has said otherwise.

So why is George Floyd lionized and elevated to cultural sainthood?

While I was parenting 4 young kids, "peaceful" meant I felt that I could safely turn my attention elsewhere for a few minutes with minimal risk the kids would cause property damage or inflict bodily injury on one another. That's still pretty much it for me :-)

The press consistently calls the riots "peaceful". Just how stupid do they think their listeners are? And just how naive would you have to be to actually believe that? I shudder to think.

I recently had occasion to be asked to make a public statement in support of the current, rather amorphous demands being made in the streets by organizations with deceptive names such as "Black Lives Matter" (but not to BLM, apparently) and "Anti-Fa" (which is fascist, top to bottom). Coming out in support of these demands for something having to do with race... or police... or prejudice... or public monuments... or something... are presented by the majority press and "conventional wisdom" as being an absolute requirement for any moral legitimacy, especially if you happen to have white skin. My gut reaction to being asked to make such a statement of support, as you may have guessed, was not "No", but rather, "Hell no!".
