Officer Chauvin's treatment of George Floyd was horrific. I can imagine no circumstances under which it would be OK for an officer to put his weight on a suspect's neck after that suspect was clearly incapable of offering further resistance. There is universal agreement on that. In fact, support for the condemnation of that arrest has been shockingly unanimous. To my knowledge, to this day, no one, literally no one, has said otherwise.

So why is George Floyd lionized and elevated to cultural sainthood?

  • It's entirely unnecessary as a means to establish the fact that Officer Chauvin's treatment of George Floyd was horrific. As a great many have pointed out, it's almost impossible to imagine exigent circumstances to excuse it.
  • It's entirely unnecessary as a means to bring social support for the fact that Officer Chauvin's treatment of George Floyd was horrific. Hardly any point has been made more widely, more publicly and more emphatically in the popular culture since 9/11. From Amazon's home page to my personal Inbox, statements declaring the point are ubiquitous and unamimous.
  • It's even entirely unnecessary as a means to protect the fact that Officer Chauvin's treatment of George Floyd was horrific against the argument that George Floyd was not actually a great, heroic or particularly admirable human being.

This site's slogan is appropriate here: The truth will set you free. I believe the truth actually highlights the fact that Officer Chauvin's treatment of George Floyd was horrific despite George Floyd's past shortcomings, which were numerous and severe. So why hide the truth about George Floyd's history and character?

The truth about George Floyd is that he was a career criminal:

  • he served 9 separate prison terms including incidents such as:
    • Theft w/ a firearm
    •  Cocaine posession, x3
    • Home invasion & brandishing a weapon at a restrained, late term pregnant woman
    • Fraud - counterfeit bills and passing bad checks (which is what initiated his fatal police encounter)

And none of the above are sufficient justification for the use of excessive force. That, to me, is the point. His character is irrelevant to the alleged motivation for months of violence.

So why has George Floyd been lionized and elevated to cultural sainthood?

For one and only one reason: political expediency. It was done to fan the flames of indignation into riots. It was done by BLM (to whom black lives clearly do not matter), by Anti-fa (who are clearly fascists), it was done by the Democrat party and it was - and is - being done by the mainstream media. The proof is in the fact that not only do all of the above parties ignore George Floyd's character, they actively suppress, refute and obscure and distort it. They know this to be true: that lack of the truth will imprison and enslave you. And still they lie. That's why they lie.
