Mea Culpa
I learned of Justice Ginsberg's death while in a conversation with a very angry Democrat. (I'm presuming she's a Democrat; I'm actually quite sure she was angry :-) Also, I was unfamiliar at the time with the 2016 history of McConnell's blocking an Obama court nominee. I was feeling reconciliatory because I genuinely did not want her experiencing anger, so based on what she told me about McConnell's 2016 statements, I agreed it would be hypocritical of him to allow a current nomination. It was obviously foolish of me to comment without all the facts and I apologize to her if what follows seems an about face or hypocritical... but... I now know a lot more about the historical vs current circumstances.

There are two pandemics sweeping our nation. One, Covid-19, attacks your lungs and can even kill the elderly and/or infirm.
The other, Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) attacks your thought processes, your heart and your soul, through mechanisms apparently well understood by propagandists, Marxists and revolutionaries of every stripe. Oh, and most media outlets.
OK, the above is (largely...) tongue in cheek. But I DO believe there is some emotional contagion, a pervasive propagandist world view, that is often referred to by conservatives as TDS. I am not saying that it's impossible to be a calm, intelligent, emotionally stable liberal or Democrat. I am telling you that I've met fewer and fewer of them over the past several years and more and more that are agitated, irrational and angry. The remainder of this article is an accounting of various interactions with "TDS" sufferers, and every example given is true, as frightening as that is.

The Atlantic's recent article accusing President Trump of disparaging fallen war heroes is just predictable (and in fact predicted) pre-election tripe.
And here is another prediction: there will be several more "bombshells" just like this before Nov. 3rd, all from the "usual suspects" in the mainstream media. And, by "just like this", I mean:

One of the frequent misrepresentations (well, ok, lies) told by the left is that President Trump claimed there were "many fine people" among some Neo-Nazis protesting in Charlottesville. This protest was actually about whether or not to remove a statue of Robert E. Lee from the Robert E. Lee public park and rename the park itself to something else. (From context, it sounds like the suggested new name might have been Washington park, but that's my conjecture.)
There were 2 "sides" present, one of which I will call the "statue status-quo" side, that wished the statue and park to remain unchanged. The press consistently refers to this side as the "Neo-Nazis", of which there may have been some. But clearly there are lots of other people & motives for wanting to preserve history as it really was.
The other "side" I will call the "statue removal" side.
